Our students have a rich, engaging and personalised learning program in Quranic & Islamic Studies and Arabic.
In Kindergarten, our students start learning the basics of Quranic studies, the Arabic language, and our Islamic teachings and values, building a strong foundation for their Islamic education.
As students move up into Pre-Primary through to Year 6, they receive ten lessons per week from our Islamic Studies Teachers which include:
- Four personalised Quranic Studies classes
- Two focused Islamic Studies classes
- Two engaging Arabic classes based on the Australian curriculum
- Two extra classes depending on students’ needs.
In Pre-Primary to Year 6, students are split into a girls and boys group for their Quranic & Islamic Studies and Arabic lessons. Each group has their own teacher, which ensures a more personalised learning program for each student.
For Quranic Studies in Year 1 and 2, students are further split into four groups. Each small group (max. 8 students) works closely with their teacher throughout the year. We believe this gives each child a stronger foundation in their Quranic Studies.
At Al-Hidayah Islamic School, our Islamic Studies Teachers also strive to teach the Arabic language using age-appropriate, hands-on and engaging activities.
This approach helps students to learn in a more contextual and relevant way that helps to embed their understanding and application of the Arabic language.
