Allah SWT mentions water in the Qu’ran as a building block of all living things. He says:
Humans are made up of 60% water, and our brain alone consists of 80% water. Water is an essential component of our existence, and we cannot survive 3 days without it. Here at Al-Hidayah Islamic School, we recognise the importance of drinking water, and advocate its regular consumption among our students throughout the day as it is essential for supporting their brain development, for staying alert in class and for their overall health and wellbeing.
To encourage healthy hydration habits among our students, we are pleased to announce that we have installed a brand-new drinking water fountain! A drinking fountain has been on our dua list for some time and we are thrilled to be able to provide this convenient and sustainable option for our students.
The drinking fountain will provide cool water throughout the year, a blessing for our students especially during the scorching months of summer. Rasulullah SAW mentions water as a blessing in the following hadith reported by Abu Hurairah RA:
The new drinking fountain is located at the end of the corridor, near our Pre-Primary class, and is easily accessible to all students during school hours. We encourage students to bring their reusable water bottles to fill up and stay refreshed and hydrated throughout the day. Check out the photos where some of our students are already making the most of it and enjoying the cool water flowing from the fountain, Alhamdulillah!
We would also like to thank Civiq Australia for supplying our new drinking fountain and the beautiful bespoke design of our school logo.
