2nd December 2011
Nineteen boys from Y4/5 (2011) and 3 students from Y6/7 (2011) participated in the 3 Days 2 Nights camp organised by the school from Fri 2 Dec 2011 to Sun 4 Dec 2011 at Bickley Outdoor Recreation Camp.
This is one of the four camps provided by the Department of Sports and Recreation. The purpose of the camp was to develop communication, interpersonal, leadership and cooperation skills, problem solving and decision making skills, create lasting friendships, build self-confidence, learn how to deal with challenges and adversity, understand responsible risk taking and develop self-discipline and independence.
The facilities, equipment and programs were ideal for students to experience a variety of recreational and educational opportunities. The students stayed in a dormitory style accommodation supervised by some of the school male staff members. Meals were provided and prepared by some of the female staff members.
Students enjoyed various recreation programs that were designed to challenge and assist them to learn and develop various skills.
They experienced a range of outdoor programs including team building activities, flying fox, raft making and swimming.
Alhamdulillah, the school camp was a success as the boys had an enriching and memorable experience. In view of this, another camp will be organised for the Y5/6 Girls this year (2012) in term 4, Insha Allah.
